Powered by Vista - Finally

vista.jpgFor the past year I had been in need of a new laptop computer. My old Dell machine had served me well, and allowed me to do everything I needed to do. It never balked, crashed, got tired, or gave up. But the time had finally come when it needed to be replaced with a newer machine. More memory, more hard drive space and a sharper HD monitor were needed.

My Fear of Vista Held Me Back

I was aware during this time period that Windows had released their new Vista operating system. Although I did not dilligently research Vista, I was aware that many people were reporting problems with the operating system. Many people. Too many people.

Quite frankly, I was scared to make the switch to Vista. Since it has become virtually impossible to buy a new PC without Vista installed, I delayed the purchase for many months.

Living Out Your “Dash”?

Everyone’s tombstone will have two dates separated by a dash. That little dash is your time on this planet measured against eternity. How do you plan to live out that dash?Anonymous

Lorelle on WordPress wrote an article about this anonymous quotation. Needless to say, these three sentences are quite profound and require a great deal of thought. Introspective thought. The kind of thought that is often easier to leave for another day.

Our Time Measured Against Eternity

“Our time measured against eternity”. Wow. Whenever we get all wound up in ourselves, our lives, our failures or our successes, it might be time to step back and think about that “little dash” and how it relates to “eternity”.

The significance of that “dash” is remarkable, isn’t it? We all need to keep our lives in perspective. Sometimes that is hard to do, as the day-to-day exigencies tend to get in the way of what is really important.

Thanks for the eye-opening article, Lorelle.

New Header Graphic for 1955 Design

question-mark.jpgI have just uploaded a new header graphic to 1955 Design. Obviously, it is a much different look than the old header graphic.

I thought the header needed to be more colorful, more upbeat and more contemporary. What do you think?
