How to Disable the “Friends Can Check You Into Places” Facebook Setting

I don’t know about you, but I don’t have any interest in the new “Places” feature on Facebook. What I know for certain is that I don’t want my friends (or foes) checking me into places, legitimately or otherwise.

I put together a very short screen cast video showing you how to disable this feature on your Facebook account. I hope some of you find it helpful.

Great presentation … I did that the other day, but then I double check my settings periodically anyway. I see no info on how Places works anyway. I’m using Foursquare in conjunction with a couple of other people for a specific reason, but I have no idea how to use the Facebook thing …

It’s really starting to amaze me that Facebook continues to add new features with default settings that the *vast majority* of users would not choose. Disturbing.
