Social media affords all of us options, opportunities and just plain fun that we would not have in it’s absence. At least that’s how I feel about how social media impacts my life. Here are a bunch of reasons I am thankful for social media.

- I love to write and social media affords me one more opportunity to do so.
- Sharing photos and videos is easy.
- Getting answers to my questions occurs almost instantly.
- Breaking news reports come instantly from people on the scene.
- I can market my small business and improve my earning potential.

There is indeed Spam that circulates via social media. But, just like with email Spam and the like, it’s possible to weed your way through it.
I am totally sold on both Facebook and Twitter. It took me awhile to “get” Twitter, but once I did I find it very useful.

I’m not a big fan of social media. I think it takes up to much time and that there is way too much spam circulating on it.
That being said, I really don’t think that I have a complete understanding of the “power” of social media. I do have a hunch that once social media and the mobile internet are fully and completly intertwined that the whole web experience will change.
I will need to get onboard and learn about it before that happens or risk being left behind.
