I was not disappointed. Just learning how the files are managed on the Mac operating system was a struggle. Transferring over all of my files, archived email and the like was a large project, just as it always is when moving to a new computer.
One of the reasons I acquired this new Mac was because of the superior video capabilities and video editing features that Mac’s have as part of their standard software package. So just today I clicked on the “iMovie” icon for the first time. You’re looking at the result. Not very pretty, is it?
My apologies in advance for placing this video here for all to see. Remember, though, I have to start somewhere and I guess this is the place.

I am just about ready to declare the MacBook Pro a success. The learning curve is present, of course, and I think it takes longer for those of us who (unfortunately) have spent 18 hours in front of a PC for decades.
I love the speed of the Mac and the terrific screen resolution. Obviously, the photo editing and video capabilities of the Mac have long since been recognized and I can confirm that they are far superior to anything I ever saw under Windows.

I’ll be interested to hear what your long term opinion is of the MacBook Pro. I will have to break down and buy a new laptop sometime during the course of the next year. I have always had thinkpads so I’m a bit hesitant to change.
The video looks fine. Let us know about the editing capability when you start testing it out.
