@Brainwave Entrainment: Thanks for visting and for commenting. I think you are correct, there will always be users with IE 6.0 – at least until the point that developers revolt and their user experience is so poor that even the last of them finally updates!

Personally, I think we are stuck with IE6 pretty much forever. I still repair PCs that have Windows 95 and run a dial-up Internet connection. The owners nearly always complain their PC is “too slow”…

I do all of my developing in Firefox and then work to fix the display issues that IE presents after I have finished the site. Frustrating, but it works.

I often find my new sites don’t work in every browser.
I do now use firefox all the time, except for checking. The vast majority of visitors to my sites also use firefox, I expect IE will fade away even more with the arrival of Chrome.
Last week my blog went wrong in firefox but worked in IE, usually it’s the other way round. Not sure what was wrong but I think a tag must have been corrupted.
I uninstalled the widgets and put them back and it worked again.

Hi David,
Yes! Count me in (on your side)… I hate both IE 6 and IE 7! I’m currently going through the all to familiar FIX for a site that works everywhere except IE 6 & 7. Working good on IE8 though, but how long before 6 & 7 are no longer used………… TOO LONG….
Long live Firefox, Chrome and Safari.
