D-Day Remembered

by David Zemens · June 6, 2007 · This 'n That

On June 6, 1944 the beaches of Normandy were advanced upon by American and allied troops.

The day was both devastating and impressive for the Americans. The young men who risked their lives and died that day did so in the name of world freedom. Fresh on the heals of Memorial Day, I think we all still need to remember the many brave young men who died that day.

The photo of Omaha Beach depicts the last view that many American boys had before they stormed the beaches of France that day. Take some time out of your day to think of them and how their courage helped rid the world of an evil dictator.
