Lookout WordPress, Here I Come

wordpress2_vert.pngIn my continuing quest to learn more about website development and to make updating websites easier for my clients, I have finally gotten elbow deep into learning how to customize WordPress.

Designing my own WordPress theme from scratch is far in the future, but I have been tweaking and modifying various other themes for several weeks now, with some considerable progress being made in my understanding of how the WordPress code is written. I am actually starting to feel fairly confident about it, which means that I am probably about to suffer some setback, as this often occurs when I start to feel I am mastering something.

My clients will really benefit from my experience. I am about to land a new project (I think) for an Oxford, MI based finished carpentry business, and I have recommended that WordPress be used to control the backend of the website. I am really looking forward to beginning this project and to seeing how my newly acquired skills can be applied directly to a client project.

As usual, my thanks to Mike Cherim over at Green-Beast for all his help with my WordPress issues. Thanks, Mike!
